Paradise Engineering (2021)
Paradise Engineering arrives as the sequel to “The Hedonic Treadmill”. The second sequence in Filardo’s photographic study paralleling the work of transhumanist figure David Pearce. Filardo uses image making to explore the relationship of photography to technology, human advancement, and happiness. A mix of world building and real world encounters this body of work illustrates the similarities between human myth and reality. The world is on fire. Is this the beginning or the end of paradise?
